The debut novel by Ryu Murakami in 1976, "Almost Transparent Blue" won "Gunzou New Literary Award" and "Akutagawa Prize" when he was 24. The story portrays the self-destructive, lost group of young men and women who reside in “Fussa”, a region in Tokyo with an US Air Force base. Its devastating episode and edgy style of writing had a great impact on the then-literary world. The novel has been translated into many languages and widely read by many youth of the world even after 35 years since published. Now it is available as e-book with the same intensity of the first publication. Ryu Murakami Born in Sasebo, Nagasaki in 1952.
