The app is designed for those people who are studying for the Cambridge University CAE exam in advanced level English. It has been specifically designed to help improve effectiveness in the Use of English paper, part 4 known as Keyword Transformations. The exercise consists of two sentences and a word. The second sentence has a gap. The user must complete the second sentence so that it is as close as possible in meaning to the first sentence. They must use between three and six words including the given word. They must not change the given word in any way. If the user gets the answer wrong, they have the option to try again or see the correct answer. Then they have the option to continue or to bookmark the exercise in order to repeat later. The app is free and has 20 free exercises. When the user has successfully completed these exercises (they should be memorised), they can buy up to 80 more via the in-app purchasing function. The app keeps a score of how many exercises the user gets right. It also offers the user the option to do the exercises in order or to randomise them. PDF versions are available at www.keywordtransformations.com along with a tip sheet. NOTE: In the actual exercise on the exam it is often possible to have more than one correct answer. It is also acceptable to use contractions (don't, hasn't etc) or full forms (do not, has not etc). However, the app only offers ONE correct solution because you only need to learn one to get the points.
