Description

Cranial Nerve iExamination is a comprehensive app used to test all 12 cranial nerves. Created by two medical students. This is the first app that can be used as a tool to actually conduct the examination. The app uses a number of tools in built into the iPhone to allow the user to conduct a complete clinical cranial nerve examination. Some tests have been enhanced with the use of the iPhone. Specifically, Cranial Nerve iExamination enhances the examination of a blind spot by producing a white background, thereby reducing background 'noise' and decreasing the chance of false positive or false negative results. The app uses a standardised method to test hearing, by using the phones native volume. This is a vast improvement on the method for testing hearing clinically. Suitable for: - Medical doctors - Interns - Medical students - Other health care professionals - Anyone wishing to examine the cranial nerves! This app is can be used in clinical practice on real patients, but is also very useful as a learning aid for students who are learning how to conduct a cranial nerve examination. A great OSCE tool! Includes a "How To" button above each test explaining how to properly use the app, which also aids students understand the examination. The Tab Bar at the bottom also allows the user to either conduct a complete examination, or select individual tests such as visual acuity for specific testing. Please rate the app or email any feedback!
