The nine lessons in this group provide initial instruction or intervention on data analysis, probability and statistics. The first five lessons introduce students to the terminology and tools of the branch of mathematics called statistics. Statistics deals with the collection, analysis, interpretations, and presentation of information referred to as data. The study of statistics is a mathematics course in its own right and covers many topics. These five lessons cover the basic concepts: A19.1 Finding Mean, Median, and Mode A19.2 Interpreting Graphs of Data A19.3 Analyzing and Describing Graphs A19.4 Finding a Line of Best Fit A19.5 Solving Statistics Problems The next section contains four lessons.
