‘Ivor the Engine: The First Story’ is a heart-warming children’s adventure that follows Ivor the Engine on his quest to sing with the Grumbly and District Choral Society. Published in digital format under the newly-created Smallworlds brand, the 30-page interactive book is a retelling of an original Ivor the Engine tale as featured in the first six episodes of the Ivor the Engine TV series screened in black and white in 1958, and in the original ‘First Story’ book. ‘Ivor the Engine: The First Story’ is exquisitely rendered in HD graphics, and features interactive pan and zoom animations and original music composition by Vernon Elliott. Easy screen-tap navigation with a gentle page-turn effect creates a magical and memorable reading experience. The book has been developed using cutting-edge game engine software technology. This is used to combine the graphics, animations, narration and music into an elegant final product worthy of a place on every young family’s virtual bookcase. ‘Ivor the Engine: The First Story’ is the second product to be launched through the Smallfilms-Dreadnought Design collaboration. Earlier in the year the venture re- introduced Ivor the Engine to today’s tech-smart audience with the release of an Ivor the Engine game for the iPhone and iPad.
