As the NASA Mars Odyssey orbits the red planet, the Thermal Emission Imaging System (THEMIS) produces some of the solar system's best photography of canyons, craters, and crevasses. Pan and zoom in on tiny details! The Mars Odyssey orbiter was launched from Kennedy Space Center on 7 April 2001 and reached Mars on 24 October 2001. Its systems are supported by NASA, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), and Arizona State University's (ASU) Mars Space Flight Facility. Mars Odyssey Themis Image of the Day is built from freely available information published by NASA, JPL, and ASU. Produced by Little Collie Ltd. Productions. Apps. Consulting.
