When you bite into sushi the experience is characterized by delectable depth of flavour as the textures blend in your mouth. Sushi was born as a method to preserve fish in ancient times, and has been developed into a variety of styles in various regions across Japan over a long period of time. A huge sushi boom occurred in the 17th century in Edo, the city that later would become Tokyo, due to the need for fast food for the hurried lifestyles of urban citizens. Innovative techniques to prepare seafood and hand-shaping craftsmanship were born. Now, much later, sushi is eaten around the world and foreign chefs are preparing it with their own unique styles.
