In todayâ€™s world, multitasking has evolved into a necessity. Unfortunately, the number of tasks we must accomplish outstrips our brainâ€™s ability to remember. Multiple studies have shown that creating lists helps us complete more tasks, be more efficient, and feel less overwhelmed. By taking one activity at a time, the amount of things needed to be done feels more manageable. Focus improves as does the quality of the work. In â€œGetting Things Doneâ€, David Allen recommends that we analyze each activity and break it down into itâ€™s most basic parts. If the tasks that we write down are too complicated, we will feel overwhelmed. For example, â€œClean and Wax Carâ€ may incorporate, going to the store and getting the wax that you ran out of, fixing the nozzle on the hose that you have been meaning to do, calling your friends over so they can help you, etc. This looming task broken down into easy steps is more manageable. TÃ¼DÃ¼ allows you to organize your thoughts and plan your day. The first step is to create a title for your to-do list. These lists can be reused or erased when the task is complete. The next step is to populate the list with categories, such as â€œshoppingâ€, â€œerrandsâ€, â€œoffice suppliesâ€, â€œmarketing meetingâ€, etc. Once the categories are put together, you can add the tasks in order order of most important to least. Now you are ready to check off items as they are completed.
